About the levels
What the level numbers mean
The levels in this framework are based on those in the SfIA framework.
Each level describes how much responsibility, independence and influence a person has:
| Level 1: Awareness | Understands the concept and basic terminology |
| Level 2: Basic application | Applies the skill with guidance in simple situations |
| Level 3: Working practice | Performs the skill independently in routine work |
| Level 4: Advanced practice | Adapts the skill to varied situations and constraints |
| Level 5: Expert practice | Leads complex application of the skill across teams or systems |
| Level 6: Strategic influence | Shapes how the skill is used across an organization |
| Level 7: Transformational leadership | Defines direction and drives major change at the highest level |
